Perfect for risotto. Imported. Since 1947. Italy is Europe's greatest producer of rice. The wetlands and cool temperature of the Lombardi region harbor the ideal conditions for lush rice yields. Thick, short grained Arborio rice is the best known and most exported type. It is the perfect rice for such gastronomical delights such as Italian Risotto, Spanish Paella and Rice Pudding. Directions

Plain White Arborio Rice: In a large saucepan with tight-fitting lid, bring 3 cups salted water to a boil. Add 2 tbsp butter or margarine (optional) and 12 oz Arborio Rice (entire package contents). Stir while boiling for 1 minute. Cover saucepan tightly. Reduced heat to simmer, cook for 18-22 minutes. Fluff and serve. Refrigerate any unused portion. Hint: To cook less than contents of the entire package, use 2 parts water to one part rice.
